Cycle 4 of the Jupiter Premier League was highly contested across all divisions, especially with a weakened division one missing Martin Watts through injury. Henry Birch finished top for the fourth time, giving him a clean sheet this season but not without Janick Radford hot on his heels. In their respective match and at 2-0 down, it looked as if Radford was going to go down in 3 with Birch looking comfortable in the driving seat, however saving an incredible 9 match balls in the next 3 games Radford clawed back to win the match 3-0. This put him in fantastic form leading into the European Squash Championships division 3, where he won five out of five matches.
All of the leagues were highly contested with just a few points between first, second and third place, but special mentions have to go to Pete Grange and Harry Martel, who although are both newcomers in the league, managed to win their respective divisions. The Robin brothers will also celebrate their first appearance in division one this season; the match between Alex and Matt saw Alex come out on top with a solid three games to love win & securing him top place in division 2.
Going in to cycle five can anyone knock Birch off the top spot? Only time will tell! With positions in this cycle setting the foundations of the 2017/18 leagues players’ will have to be on top form to ensure they start In a strong position going into next season.
