The Jupiter Premier League drew to a close on Thursday the 1st of June and saw Janick Radford taking his first league title of the season. Having showed spectacular form at the European Squash Championships, Radford managed to carry on his form to win the fifth and final cycle of the league. Despite this, Henry Birch managed to take the league title for the season winning the previous 4 cycles.
Highlights from cycle 5 included seeing the two Robin brothers reaching the peak of their careers playing in division 1 of the league, who, despite facing a new tougher level of competition, managed to hold their own. The strength of divisions 5 and 6 continues to grow with new additions to the league and new rivalries being formed. Strong performances from James England and Nick Maunder saw them earn promotion in cycles 6 & 5 respectively, with Graham ray close on Maunder’s tail only 2 points behind.
With the season drawing to a close and the splendid weather we are having recently, Guernsey Squash players can now enjoy a well-deserved break. Things are looking promising for the 2017/18 season and we look forward to welcoming back some competitive & entertaining league action in September.
